Guillermo Forchino was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1952, studied there at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and then at the Sorbonne in Paris, where he still lives and works today. He began with figures made of wrapped strips of fabric and papier-mâché and has used polyresin since the late 1980s for his Comic Art series, which exaggerates professions, sport and everyday scenes with humour and irony. The figures of the series are made and painted by hand, often under the supervision of the artist, appear in limited editions and are individually numbered.
