Grete Krämer-Zschäbitz, plaster model "Drei Kinder", with sketch of a reclining boy with jug Plaster, three pieces by Grete Krämer-Zschäbitz (1904 Braunschweig – 2000 Braunschweig), 1) plaster model "Drei Kinder", painted in terracotta colour, illegibly inscribed on the underside, two boy figures carrying a small girl on their shoulders, good condition commensurate with age, rubbed in places, stand slightly chipped, 17.5x11.5x6.5 cm (HxWxD), 2) small dripped material sample, white, with breaks, 5x9x7 cm (HxWxD), 3) plaster model of a boy with jug reclining on a rectangular base, white, inscribed "Skizze 1:10" and signed verso, the head broken off, chipped and glued, 12x11x6 cm (HxWxD). Grete Krämer-Zschäbitz was born in Braunschweig on 3 February 1904 and studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Braunschweig and in the sculpture class of the Dresden Art Academy. She worked as a sculptor, ceramicist and mosaicist in Braunschweig, Selb and Dresden. In addition to works in clay and soapstone, she created models for bronze casting, portraits, church art as well as mosaic and glass works. The Städtisches Museum Braunschweig holds her bronze "Verängstigte Tiere" of 1964 with the signature "GKZ".
