Lumina "Daphine", table lamp by Tommaso Cimini, metal and plastic, white and black, Italy Metal and plastic, table lamp, model "Daphine" by Lumina, design Tommaso Cimini, marked on the underside "LUMINA ITALIA® MI", "Arluno", "Modello DAPHINE", "Design T.CIMINI" and "Made in ITALY", marked on the joint "LUMINA" and "Daphine", lacquered black and white, round black base, on it the transformer housing, white with a broad black central band, on its side a black plate with ball joint holding the white two-section arm, at the end a cylindrical white lamp head, function tested, good condition commensurate with age, lacquer rubbed in places, H. 88 cm (max.) The "Daphine" is a design by Tommaso Cimini from 1975; the mechanical engineer built the first prototype in 1976 in a small workshop in Sedriano near Milan and founded the firm Lumina in 1980. His motto "Lots of light, not much lamp" describes the idea of the lamp. The family includes the floor lamp "Daphine Terra", the wall lamp "Daphine Parete", the "Daphinette" and the "Daphine Cloe". For the 50th anniversary in 2026 Lumina issued the lamp in the new colours green, orange and mustard. After Cimini's death in 1997 his son Ettore Cimini took over the family business, which today produces in Arluno near Milan.
