The parish church of St Margaret stands on a rocky spur above the Kapruner Ache; it is first documented in 1409, its nave was built from 1898 in neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic forms, and in the same year the tower, already remodelled in 1722, received its pointed spire. Together with the surrounding old cemetery the church is a listed monument. Above the village rises Kaprun Castle from the 12th century; further destinations are the high-alpine reservoirs Wasserfallboden and Mooserboden. Martin Wirth exhibited his works in Goslar, Wernigerode and at the Ministry of the Environment in Magdeburg, among other places.
