Glashütte Original emerged from the Glashütter Uhrenbetrieb (GUB) in 1994 and with its early Senator models tied in with the great Saxon watchmaking tradition. The chronograph calibre GUB 10-60 with 48 jewels and 42 hours of power reserve was developed after 1990 on the basis of the automatic calibre 10-30 designed in GDR times and ranks among the first manufactory chronographs from Glashütte after reunification. The regional provenance adds appeal: the watch was sold in 1997 by the Quedlinburg retailer Malchert.
