Meissen Vine Leaf set, 19 pieces, with coffee pot and bonbonnière, first choice Porcelain, Vine Leaf decor in underglaze green, gilt, glazed, first choice. Extensive 19-piece set by the Meissen State Porcelain Manufactory in the 'Vine Leaf' decor (Full Green Vine Wreath), consisting of a coffee pot (h. 20 cm), a bonbonnière (h. 10 cm, d. 11.5 cm), two deep and two flat dinner plates each, seven confectionery plates and six dessert plates. All pieces with the encircling wreath of chrome-green painted vine leaves and tendrils, the rims gilt. On the undersides the underglaze-blue pommel crossed-swords mark. Age-appropriate condition: the pot lid chipped on the inside and the flower finial knocked, the pot body with a stress crack, two dessert plates with a chip (one restored). Dimensions as stated. The 'Vine Leaf' decor, officially 'Full Green Vine Wreath', was designed in 1817 by Johann Samuel Arnhold for Meissen and ranks among the classic table decors of the manufactory. The pommel crossed-swords mark dates the set to the Knauf period (about 1850 to 1924). The Meissen State Porcelain Manufactory, founded in 1710, is the oldest porcelain manufactory in Europe. An extensive set for collectors and for the well-appointed table.
