Meissen pierced plate, scattered flowers, rocaille cartouches and gilding, 1st choice, Knaufzeit Porcelain, polychrome painted, gilt-decorated, glazed. Pierced plate by the Meissen manufactory, decorative plate with a reticulated lattice border and a shaped gilt rim. Three relief-moulded rocaille cartouches with gilt decoration, containing small flowers; colourful scattered flowers in the well, a pink flower in the centre. On the underside the underglaze blue crossed swords mark, 1st choice. Condition commensurate with age, gilding and decoration rubbed. D. 20 cm Pierced plates with a reticulated border are among the decorative plates of the Meissen manufactory; relief-moulded rocaille cartouches draw on the ornamental repertoire of the Rococo. Scattered flowers, small flowers and flowering sprigs loosely distributed across the well, are a widely used Meissen floral decoration. The crossed swords mark without a cancellation cut identifies a piece of 1st choice.
