The fagus brand stands for wooden toys from the Büngern-Technik workshop for people with disabilities in Rhede in Westphalia, which has made toys since 1982; it is run by the Caritas association for the deanery of Bocholt. Around 135 employees with disabilities make the toy vehicles there. The range of large wooden cars and commercial vehicles includes construction vehicles such as wooden excavators, cranes, wheel loaders and tracked dumpers. The vehicles are built of solid beech and are not screwed or nailed but jointed and dowelled.
