Märklin MS 800 electric locomotive in green, two pantographs, gauge H0, 1953 Electric locomotive of the Märklin brand, type MS 800, gauge H0. Green body with a light roof and two pantographs. Version of 1953 with the lettering 'MÄRKLIN' and 'MS 800' on both sides. Function not tested. Good condition, paint with gloss, hardly any signs of use. In a red/white Märklin box with diamond pattern, box with storage marks. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. The track section shown serves only for presentation. The type MS 800 belongs to the classic Märklin 800 series and reproduces the electric locomotive of class E 18. Märklin introduced the MS 800 in 1947; the earlier versions carry 'MÄRKLIN' and 'MS 800' on the left, 'Germany' and 'MS 800' on the right. The present piece in its original box is the last version of 1953 with the lettering 'MÄRKLIN' and 'MS 800' on both sides (Koll's Kompaktkatalog Märklin 00/H0, 1983, MS 800, variant 4). A Märklin tag 'geprüft' (tested) hangs on the pantograph, as Märklin attached to locomotives after the test run at the factory.
