Märklin T 800 Steam Tank Locomotive Gauge H0 in Black, circa 1949 to 1950 Gauge H0 steam tank locomotive by Märklin, model T 800. Die-cast zinc body, painted black, frame and buffer beams lined in red, coupled wheels with red spokes, silver-coloured motion. The chassis bears the raised lettering "T 800" and "MÄRKLIN", above it the externally visible oval brush cover with two screws. Boiler with three domes and mounted whistle, cab with cut-out windows, side water tanks, lamps and coupling hooks at front and rear. Played with, showing signs of age. The function of the locomotive has been tested and is given. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. The piece of track shown serves for presentation only. 360-degree photo on our website. The T 800 is one of the pre-war designs of the 800 series and stood on the two-axle standard chassis it shared with the R 800, SLR 800 and RS 800. From 1950 the more prototypical TM 800 after Class 80 replaced it in the range. The externally accessible brush cover in the frame is a feature of this early design and allowed the carbon brushes to be changed without removing the body.
