Sabres with a lion's head pommel were carried circa 1900 by Prussian officers of, among others, the artillery and, as an undress sabre, the cavalry. The Solingen arms factory F.W. Höller was active from 1866 to 1974 and produced swords, sabres, bayonets and officers' daggers.
