By its very nature, *Vozrozhdenie* positioned itself as an independent voice of Russian national thought. Its pages brought together political journalism, history, philosophy, religious thought, literary criticism, memoirs, and fiction. Philosophical and religious content held a special place in the journal. Its pages published and discussed the works and ideas of Semyon Frank, Fyodor Stepun, Boris Vysheslavtsev, Vasily Zenkovsky, Vladimir Ilyin, Ivan Ilyin, Anton Kartashev, and other representatives of Russian religious and philosophical thought. Scholars regard *Vozrozhdenie* as an important center for the preservation and development of the philosophical culture of the Russian diaspora. The journal’s literary content was also significant. Among its authors and contributors were Ivan Bunin, Boris Zaitsev, Alexei Remizov, Nikolai Arsenyev, Ariadna Tyrkova, and other well-known writers of the Russian diaspora. In its early years, *Vozrozhdenie* was published every two months. Starting in 1955, the magazine became a monthly publication. Over the course of its existence, 243 issues were published—from No. 1 in January 1949 to No. 243 in March 1974. The circulation was approximately 5,000 copies. The final issue, No. 243, was published in March 1974.
