[THE LARGEST MAGAZINE ON WHITE EMIGRATION] “LA SENTINELLE” MAGAZINE. The official magazine of the Union of Russian Veterans (ROVS). Published bimonthly, edited by V. Orekhoff, E. Tarousski, and A. Vonsiatski. A rare collection of the magazine’s issues from its founding in 1929 through 1987 (approximately 312 issues, some of which have been bound into volumes). We are including 71 duplicate issues from the same period, as-is. *La Sentinelle* was published between 1929 and 1988 (first in France, then in Belgium), with an interruption during World War II when the editorial staff was forced to shut down. CHASOVOY. A Russian military-historical and socio-political journal published in exile from 1929 to 1988. The journal was founded by V. V. Orekhov, E. Tarussky, and S. K. Tereshchenko. The idea of launching the publication had been discussed even during General P. N. Wrangel’s lifetime; from the very beginning, the magazine was closely associated with circles of the Russian General Military Union (ROVS), although it was formally positioned as an independent publication. It is one of the longest-running Russian émigré periodicals of the 20th century: over six decades, 669 issues were published, including combined issues. Until 1936, the magazine was published in Paris. Starting with issue No. 180, publication was moved to Brussels, where it continued until 1988. During World War II, the magazine was suspended (as of May 10, 1941). Publication resumed in 1947 in Brussels.
