Facsimile edition of the first edition published in Basel in 1561. The work, divided into twelve books and written in Latin, addresses in detail the art of mining, the refining and smelting of metals, as well as their chemical aspects, making it a significant work in the history of chemistry. It was a highly influential work and was reprinted several times; the numerous engravings and detailed descriptions of machinery made it a practical reference for the period.
