Albert CAMUS. The Stranger. Paris, NRF, 1954. Small 8vo, paperback, printed cover (slight oxidation of the paper, as is often the case; one inner spine slightly worn). A fine copy from the standard printing. With an autographed dedication by Albert Camus to Pierre Séjourné on the half-title page. Provenance: from the library of Pierre Séjourné. Pierre Séjourné (1930–1993), a Parisian bookseller and lover of fine bookbindings, a flutist, and an enthusiast of literature and classical music, was as much a part of Parisian artistic and literary circles as he was of the world of the Decorative Arts and its schools, thanks to his uncle, the architect and member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, Albert Laprade. Also an author and actor, he devoted himself to writing and performing his own plays, which were staged primarily in the Paris region.
