In-4, (8) ff., 187 pp. Contemporary vellum, handwritten title on the spine (some foxing). The only edition of one of the earliest treatises on French heraldry. Dedicated to the Prince of Condé. This book by Jesuit Father Philibert Monet (1566–1643), founder of the College of Thonon, is both a historical work (on the origins of coats of arms) and a technical guide (on how to interpret them).
