MALE WOODEN STATUETTE Egyptian art, New Kingdom, 1295–1069 B.C. Statuette of a man depicted standing, in a walking pose, with his left leg forward, wearing a chendjit loincloth; his short hair is rendered in parallel strands, and his face is carved and highlighted with black for the eyebrows and eyes. Arms and feet are missing; the wood has cracks. Height: 37 cm Provenance: Charles Gillet Collection (1879–1972), then passed down through the family An Egyptian wood figure of a man, New Kingdom, 1295–1069 B.C.
