DUNOYER DE SEGONZAC (André). A series of 10 etchings, proofs presented to Mr. Jacques Guignard by the artist, inscribed in his own hand, signed by Dunoyer de Ségonzac, and accompanied by two letters in envelopes. Each engraving is mounted on a mat, bears the notation “proof,” and is signed by the artist in black ink. The entire set is housed in three Canson sleeves and protected by a slipcase covered in green canvas with a title label on the back. These etchings were created to illustrate *Quelques sonnets de Ronsard* [Paris, published by the artist], 1955. Dedication: “To Jacques Guignard, these etchings, engraved in the land of Pierre de Ronsard, with warm regards. A. Dunoyer de Ségonzac, January 1957.” The first letter (1957): “I am sending you 10 proofs for my ‘Sonnets of Ronsard,’ which I hope will evoke a little of the charm of Touraine and the memory of the great poet (...)” The second letter consists of two postcards slipped into an envelope addressed to Mr. Jacques Guignard, chief curator of the Arsenal Library. The letter is dated July 17, 1971. Segonzac thanks Mr. Guignard for his “such a fine article” published in *Nouvelles littéraires*. “It is excellent, and admirably presented and laid out; the reproductions are very well chosen and beautifully executed. I cannot tell you how much your article and the catalog’s preface have delighted me. (...)” Experts: Loup Axmann and Jean-Luc Boisseau
