BŒSCH (Paul, ill.) & PONCET (Louis). Saints (St. Nicholas, St. Bernard, St. Christopher, St. Augustine, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Joseph). Lausanne, Au Verseau (Roth & Sauter), 1933. In-plano portfolio, 6 loose sheets, polychrome print. First edition by Canon Louis Poncet (1898–c. 1959) and the artist Paul Boesch (1889–1969), a heraldic painter and master of colored woodcut, who gave Au Verseau’s productions their characteristic style, combining formal rigor with chromatic richness. *Saintetés* consists of six large-format poem-posters (45.5 x 38 cm), each combining an original polychrome woodcut by Boesch and a poetic text by Poncet dedicated to a patron saint, with an indication of the saint’s patronage: Saint Nicholas (patron saint of sailors, firefighters, and electricians), Saint Bernard of Menthon (patron saint of mountaineers), Saint Christopher (patron saint of drivers of motor vehicles), Saint Augustine, Saint Mary Magdalene, and Saint Joseph. Each plate is both a standalone graphic work and a devotional poem. EAS from Louis Poncet to Jacques Guignard. A paleographer, archivist, and erudite humanist, Jacques Guignard (1912–1980) devoted his career to the National Library, where he directed the Printed Works Collection before heading the Arsenal Library from 1961 to 1980. Combining a deep knowledge of the history of the book with a rare artistic sensibility, he enriched and promoted the heritage collections while playing a pioneering role in the development of international bibliophilia. Cover partially worn; other minor flaws. Included: BACOU (Roseline). *Visages d’enfants* (Children’s Faces), fifteen drawings from Dürer to Dufy belonging to the collections of the national museums. Paris, D. Jacomet, 1968. Folio size, loose-leaf in the publisher’s blue folder with flaps. A copy inscribed to Jacques Guignard himself. Numerous stains on the folder. Experts: Loup Axmann and Jean-Luc Boisseau
