Edited by Peter Pfrunder, then director of the Fotostiftung Schweiz, the book explores the evolution of the photographic representation of the Swiss landscape, juxtaposing historical images that shaped the myth of an idyllic Switzerland with the perspectives of contemporary documentary photography. Richly illustrated, this catalog brings together works by historic photographers such as Albert Steiner, Gotthard Schuh, and Theo Frey, as well as contemporary photographers including Jean-Luc Cramatte, Nicolas Faure, Yann Gross, Christian Schwager, Jules Spinatsch, and Martin Stollenwerk.
