(c. 1498/99). 39.9 x 29 cm (sheet). Bartsch 10; Meder 119 III b-c (of III g); Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum 160 III b-c (of III g). Provenance: Library of the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, stamped upper right with the institution’s collection mark (Lugt 1627) and on the reverse with its duplicate stamp (Lugt 2575). Plate 7 from: The Large Passion. A good impression based on the 1511 Latin text edition, printed somewhat dryly in the darker passages. With narrow margins around the border. – The upper left corner has been reattached. A skillfully repaired tear at the lower edge. Two additional short tears at the left edge, outside the image. A repaired tear extending inward from the center of the left edge. On the reverse, traces of an old mounting. The sheet has a few scattered, minute foxing spots. A flattened central fold. Otherwise well preserved. Taxation: subject to differential taxation (VAT: Margin Scheme).
