129 - CELINE, Louis-Ferdinand: Cast of his right hand. On July 2, 1961, the day after the writer’s death, Dr. André WILLEMIN, who had certified the death, had the physician Léon BERTHAULT take a cast of his right hand—the hand with which he wrote. The foundry’s inscription and a note on the end of the bronze read: “Cast of L.F. Céline’s hand made on his deathbed.”
