*MARIO BUCCELLATI, 1960s A set comprising a pair of earrings and a pendant in 750‰ white and rose gold, featuring textured foliage motifs created using the “segrinato” technique, set with brilliant-cut diamonds and adorned with large white baroque cultured pearls. Signed “M. BUCCELLATI” on the tip. Made in Italy, hallmarks from the period 1944–1968 (Workshop 15 MI). Pair of earrings—designed for pierced ears, with 750‰ white gold posts and safety backs. Dimensions: 3.9 x 2 cm. Gross weight: 22.7 g. Pendant—Removable bail with a ratchet clasp and a safety clasp. Dimensions: 4.4 x 1.6 cm. Gross weight: 11.8 g. Buccellati has built its reputation in particular on its mastery of jewelry craftsmanship and, more specifically, on its work with engraving and the textures of precious metals. The “segrinato” technique, in particular, is an engraving method developed by the House as early as the 1930s and 1940s. It involves using a chisel to engrave intersecting and overlapping lines in various directions, giving the finished piece a velvety, silky appearance. It has been used in silverware and jewelry, particularly for naturalistic motifs.
