*GIANMARIA BUCCELLATI Set consisting of a brooch-pendant and a pair of earrings in 750‰ yellow and white gold with textured floral motifs created using the “segrinato” technique; the pistils are adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds set in chiseled bezel settings. Signed “Gianmaria Buccellati ITALY 18K.” Made in Italy (Workshop 763 MI). Total weight of the 12 diamonds: approximately 9 carats. Brooch-pendant—750‰ yellow gold pin. Dimensions: 4.4 x 4.5 cm. Gross weight: 23.1 g. Pair of earrings—for pierced ears, 750‰ yellow gold hoop earrings. Dimensions: 2.9 x 3.2 cm. Gross weight: 25.6 g. Total gross weight: 48.8 g. (Minor soldering and restorations). Comes with two cases from the House. *Subject to inspection. The House of Buccellati has built its reputation in particular on its mastery of jewelry craftsmanship and, more specifically, on its work with engraving and the textures of precious metals. The “segrinato” technique, in particular, is an engraving method developed by the House as early as the 1930s and 1940s. It involves using a chisel to engrave intersecting and overlapping lines in various directions, giving the finished piece a velvety, silky appearance. It has been used in silverware and jewelry, particularly for naturalistic motifs.
