IMPORTANT SKELETON ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK BY G.M.H., ENGLAND (20th Century) This important clock features: 1- An upper dial that contains three inner subdials and a window: the small dial on the left indicates the day of the week. The small dial on the right indicates the day of the month. The flat outer ring indicates the month of the current year. The lower semicircular window (featuring the G.M.H. logo) displays the phases of the moon. 2- A large central dial, which is the heart of the watch and serves a dual purpose: the silver outer ring marks the hours in Roman numerals, and the openwork inner disc (astrolabe) depicts a star map with a grid marking the constellations of the zodiac. 3- Left Side Dial, which is an analog barometer. 4- Right Side Dial, which measures the equation of time—that is, it shows the actual difference in minutes between “true solar time” and “mean civil time.” Featuring a calendar, astrolabe, moon phase display, and barometer, crafted from bronze with a high-precision mercury pendulum.
