*Imperial Guard mounted hunter's saber, 1st model, single-branch guard, crossguard stamped with Versailles, “A C” in an oval (A. Chapelle, director from February 1805 to July 1809) and another mark that is difficult to read, probably: “J C” (J. Cazamajou, inspector from 1803 to 1806), wooden tang covered in leather, filigree-decorated; brass scabbard, two large fittings and splints secured by rivets, leather-covered slits, pommel hallmarked: “J C” in an oval; length 100 cm. (Item in its original condition; the blade is missing, as are some rivets on the slits; minor wear). Early First Empire period, 1805/1806. As is.
