17th Century MAZARIN DESKTOP in walnut veneer inlaid with leaves, blackened wood and gilded wood The top opens to reveal an ash-veneered and blackened-wood interior with four drawers simulating six, and a lower section with a flap and two boxes of two drawers. Sheathed uprights surmounted by a pilaster with gadroons and floral festoons, joined by an H-shaped brace surmounted by a spinning top. Skate feet 85.5 x 120 x 74 cm (Partly gilded, later bronze escutcheons, spindle replaced, one damaged foot glued back, two feet split)
