Markings: dial, case, crown, movement, and bracelet Dimensions: 35 mm, length 21 cm Reference 2526 identifies Patek Philippe’s first self-winding model, launched in 1953 with the 12-600AT caliber and serial number 760,000. Four generations can be identified based on the following developments: FIRST GENERATION Domed screw-down case back, enameled dial with applied hour markers; the enamel is flared around the recesses containing the hour markers and hands. SECOND GENERATION Domed screw-down case back, enameled dial with hour markers set into the raised surface, while the enamel is flared around the recesses for the hands. THIRD GENERATION It differs from the second generation in its flat screw-down case back. FOURTH GENERATION Flat screw-down case back, enamel dial with applied luminescent hour markers. Excellent condition; the external hallmark under the lug is clearly visible; there is a very slight and small peripheral “crack” at the 5 o’clock position.
