Pablo Picasso, 10 erotic black-and-white lithographs from ‘Le Goût du Bonheur’ (The Taste of Happiness) (1964/1970), in a collector’s folder with 3 colour exhibition posters Pablo Ruiz Picasso, 1881 Málaga, Spain - 1973 in Mougins, France, here: 8 black-and-white lithographs, 89 of which are highly erotic, from the famous portfolio ‘Le Goût du Bonheur’, each measuring 32.5 x 25 cm, one of 1998 copies, in a collector’s folder with 3 exhibition posters (Tate Gallery 1960 inter alia) About the work: ‘Le Goût du Bonheur’ (The Taste of Happiness) is a famous portfolio of prints by Pablo Picasso, published in 1970. It is regarded as an exceptional late work by the artist, created under his personal supervision. The portfolio reproduces the contents of three of Picasso’s personal studio sketchbooks from 1964. The collection comprises 71 drawings (26 and 27 of which are in colour). The illustrations are cheerful, playful and often strongly erotic in nature. The prints were produced in Günther Dietz’s studios. A highly sophisticated, almost three-dimensional screen-printing/photolithography technique was used, which reproduces the textures of charcoal, ink and coloured pencils so accurately that the prints are almost indistinguishable from the original drawings. All works were printed on high-quality Arches Velin handmade paper, which often bears a corresponding watermark. The total print run amounted to 1,998 copies.
