13 Vintage Sterling Silver and Gold Novelty Brooches and Pins A collection of 13 vintage jewelry items (12 sterling and 1 14k gold) featuring transportation, animal, and character motifs. The group includes a silver four-engine aircraft with TWA embossed on one wing and a square mark containing the characters BER over BAR on the underside. A silver figural Michelin mascot brooch features a diagonal sash with the name MICHELIN and a sterling mark on the verso. The collection further contains a silver fighter plane brooch set with marcasites and enameled RAF roundels, a 14k gold high-wing monoplane with blue enameled stars, and a small Felix the Cat character pin in black and white enamel. Other items include an enameled lizard brooch with red and black stripes, a silver fish brooch with a red stone eye, and a silver silhouette of a mid-century coupe. The set is completed by a script Baby bar brooch, a silver bar brooch with a central black plaque and seed pearl, a V-shaped collar bar, a figural nude brooch, and a miniature cutlery pin. The pieces utilize various fasteners including C-clasps and safety catches. 120 grams of sterling silver (including stones). 4 grams of 14k gold (including stones). Heavy tarnish and patination are present across the silver pieces, notably on the TWA aircraft and the Michelin figure. The lizard brooch shows visible chipping and loss to the red and black enamel. The Felix the Cat pin exhibits a slightly bent pin stem. Minor surface scratches and oxidation are visible throughout the collection. All stones appear present in the marcasite-set airplane brooch.
