Sebastião Ribeiro SALGADO (Brazilian artist, 1944–2025). Ilhas Anavilhanas – 2009. Photographic print. H_19.8 cm W_29.7 cm, slight dent in the lower center. Presented with a certificate of authenticity in Portuguese on the back. Note: Exiled to France in 1969, Salgado became a professional photographer in Paris in 1973, working for Sygma, Gamma, and later Magnum. In 1994, he founded the Amazonas Images agency with his wife, Lélia Wanick Salgado. He has created major, long-term black-and-white projects on the human condition and the state of the planet: *Sahel*, *Workers* (1993), *Migrations* (2000), *Genesis* (2004–2011), and *Amazônia* (2021).
