This print reproduces a tapestry woven at the Gobelins Manufactory based on drawings by its first director, Charles Le Brun. This tapestry was part of a series titled “History of the King,” which commemorated the early triumphs of Louis XIV’s reign. The meeting of June 7, 1660, served to seal the peace of the Treaty of the Pyrenees and to formalize the marriage of Louis XIV to the Infanta Maria Theresa of Austria, daughter of the King of Spain. 41.5 x 57.8 cm. Condition B (a few light foxing spots on the reverse, some old restorations, slightly dusty margins, subject in good condition).
