A rare booklet dedicated to the photographer Niedzielski, published on the occasion of an exhibition or presentation of his work. Prefaced by an important essay by Jean-Claude Lemagny, it brings together a selection of reproductions highlighting humanistic photography of great formal rigor, reminiscent in its simplicity of Paul Strand’s aesthetic. Portraits, landscapes, and studies of materials are presented side by side in a very understated layout that emphasizes the expressive power of the images. This publication, now rare, serves as a valuable record of how Niedzielski’s work was received in the postwar years and of Jean-Claude Lemagny’s interest in this demanding style of photography. Condition: cover slightly worn with some foxing and normal signs of use, small creases at the corners; interior fresh, with no tears or missing pages. A fine copy.
