First edition of this issue of the journal *Medium Fotografie*, one of the leading German publications devoted to the history and practice of photography during the 1970s and 1980s. This volume brings together historical studies, portfolios, and critical essays on documentary and artistic photography, illustrated with numerous black-and-white reproductions. It reflects the renewed interest in photography as an artistic medium in West Germany in the early 1980s. Contributions include sections devoted to several major photographers as well as to the evolution of photojournalism and European humanist photography. Condition: a good copy despite some signs of wear on the cover.
