An interesting reference volume published by the Société de l’Histoire de France, bringing together chronological entries, diplomatic documents, historical analyses, and scholarly materials intended for researchers and enthusiasts of medieval and modern history. It includes, in particular, studies devoted to the popes, ecclesiastical institutions, diplomatic relations, and various historical issues addressed using the scholarly methods of the 19th century. Its yearbooks now serve as valuable testimonies to the historical scholarship of the July Monarchy and the nascent Second Empire. This copy is bound in burgundy half-maroquin in the Bradel style, with the title in gold lettering on the spine. The paper is slightly browned, as is often the case with this type of publication, but the copy is well-preserved. The binding is in fine condition. The interior is in good condition.
