This plate is taken from the famous series “La Fontaine’s Bestiary, Dali-fied,” created by the Surrealist artist and published by Robert Mouret in 1974 (Éditions des Maîtres Contemporains in Agay, Saint-Raphaël). The series consists of 12 prints, beginning with a portrait of La Fontaine. “The Horse and the Wolf” is the sixth. The copper plates were pierced after printing.
