Slight wear to the patina in places and minor nicks. Geneviève Granger was a French sculptor, ceramicist, and medalist, a student of André Massoulle and Henri Dubois. A member of the Société des artistes français and a founding member of the Salon d’Automne, she exhibited her work early on in major Parisian galleries (Galerie Georges Petit) as well as abroad (Basel, St. Louis, Rome, Ghent). Geneviève Granger also played an important role in establishing the status of “women artists” by helping to found the first feminist organizations. She created more than a hundred bronze models produced in limited editions by Barbedienne and Siot-Decauville. Some of her works are now housed at the Musée d’Orsay.
