Bound in contemporary fawn-colored veal, ribbed spine, panels with gilt fillets adorned with gilt palmettes and fleurons, title label, red edges. - Caps and corners restored; brown stains on pages 503 through 509; a few pages with spots; faint traces of graphite graffiti on the endpapers. First published in 1741, *Le Nouveau Parfait Maréchal* is a rival to Solleyssel’s *Parfait Maréchal*, which had been in use since the 17th century. The horse’s anatomy; stud farms; the groom; tack; equine medicine; farriery. These six parts are illustrated with 29 plates printed on the right-hand side of a folded leaf, so that they can be viewed while the volume is open to another page.
