Neapolitan artist, first half of the 17th century () Saint Anthony the Abbot Oil on canvas 57 x 43.3 cm. Framed This powerful depiction of an elderly, bearded saint is characterized by pronounced naturalism, strong chiaroscuro, and expressive intensity, reflecting the influence of Caravaggio. Its sculptural modeling and austere treatment place the painting within the Neapolitan naturalist tradition, alongside the works of Battistello Caracciolo, Pietro Novelli, and Mattia Preti, with particular affinities to Battistello’s *Ecce Homo* and *Flight into Egypt*, both in the Museo di Capodimonte, Naples.
