Augustus Wynantz (1795–1848): Animated view of Ghent, oil on canvas, dated 1832 Work: 36,5 x 28,5 cm Frame: 54,5 x 46 cm Augustus Wynantz - a painter active at the court in The Hague between 1846 and 1850 - might possibly be identified with Jean-Baptiste Wynantz, according to Dr. Tim De Doncker and Pieter-Jan Lachaert (see: Tim De Doncker & Pieter-Jan Lachaert, 'Een kleurrijke figuur: Jean-Baptiste Joseph Wynantz (1795-na 1829)', in: Kleurrijk. Jean Baptist Wynantz & Gent omstreeks 1820, Ghent, 2015, pp. 19-26). The work presented only reinforces this hypothesis.
