One-piece wooden handle. Functional spring-loaded pommel. Leather scabbard with iron fittings; the scabbard ferrule is marked to Infantry Regiment 68, also of the Rhineland. The blade does not fit completely into the scabbard; it is 4 to 5 mm short. Normal wear and tear, patina. German S98 old-pattern bayonet of Infantry Regiment 160. Blade made by Alex Coppel of Solingen, dated 1902. Crossguard marked to Rhineland Infantry Regiment 160. One-piece wooden grip. Functional spring-loaded release button. Leather scabbard with iron fittings; the throat is marked to Rhineland Infantry Regiment 68. The blade does not fit completely into the scabbard, leaving 4 to 5 mm exposed. Normal wear and patina.
