A series of borders with polyform fretwork delimit a central scene of marked naturalistic character, where the dynamism of the birds in full flight is harmoniously integrated into a lush floral environment. Its double gourd shape is very typical of Chinese culture. It is an example that represents the excellence of the decorative arts in the Chinese Qing dynasty, a period of technical splendor, cultural synthesis and an unprecedented openness to external influences, marking the final stage of imperial China.
