Posters Keep Your Eyes Open! in Traffic. Original poster design, monogrammed “WB.” Gouache and opaque paints on paper. No date or print information, 1949. Approx. 49 x 38.5 cm (sheet size), framed under glass. The poster design depicts a dramatic road safety scene against an olive-green background. In the center is a large skull behind a streamlined automobile that is striking a pedestrian. The poster was created as an original design as part of the early postwar road safety campaigns in Germany, which were intended to counteract the rapidly rising number of accidents caused by the nascent wave of motorization. - Good condition.
