Berlin - Spandau Dilschmann, Johann Ludwig Diplomatic History and Description of the City and Fortress of Spandow. With a plan of the city and fortress of Spandow, a map of the area around Spandau, and 1 copperplate engraving depicting the city seal, among other items. Berlin, (no publisher), 1785. VIII, 172 pp. Contemporary half leather (somewhat bumped and scuffed; headbands with missing pieces). First separate edition. - VD18 11468203 - Berlin Bibliography, p. 788; erroneously attributed there to F.L.J. Fischbach because the work was simultaneously reprinted in the third volume of the “Historische … Beyträge” edited by him. - Very rare first separate edition of the first chronicle of Spandau, with an appendix of 51 documents. Chapter 5 also covers the towns of Gatow, Kladow, Tegel, Lübars, Pichelsdorf, Falkenhagen, and others. - The map as a frontispiece and the two copperplate engravings are bound into the text volume rather than at the end (cf. VD18). - Endpapers show traces of glue; copperplate engravings are slightly foxed. This lot is subject to standard tax. A 24.95% buyer’s premium applies to the hammer price, and 7% (Books and Art) or 19% VAT (Manuscripts, Screenprints, Offset Prints, Photographs) applies to the final invoice amount within the European Union.
