Etni-Tecni Fireplace Set Steel and bronze Etni-Tecni Edition 1991 H78 cm In good original condition. One figure is missing an ear, and another is missing a mouth. Distributed in the 1990s by The Conran Shop and the En Attendant les Barbares gallery, Etni-Tecni’s creations reflect a time when French design was reconnecting with whimsy, storytelling, and the artisan’s touch. This fireplace set is a testament to that: the utensils, extended by small bronze figures, become a miniature scene by the fireside. The utilitarian object becomes a narrative sculpture, in the style of the creations by Élizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti or Migeon & Migeon, distributed by the same gallery. A piece characteristic of the Parisian “new baroque.”
