Enric Mestre (1936–2025) Untitled Sculpture Ceramic Circa 2000 H21 L33 D21 cm A leading figure in contemporary Spanish ceramics, the Valencian artist Enric Mestre spent more than fifty years developing a body of sculptural work rooted in geometry and architecture. His pieces, constructed from planes, flat surfaces, and openings, evoke imaginary buildings, in a deliberate dialogue with geometric abstraction and Constructivism. This sculpture from the 2000s offers a characteristic example: here, the ceramic is no longer a container but pure volume, where light reveals the articulation of the surfaces. The artist, who passed away in 2025, leaves behind a body of work of great coherence, now complete.
