A collection of aphorisms by Jean Giraudoux, in this volume entirely devoted to sports. Illustrated with 15 original copper etchings by André Dunoyer de Ségonzac, and with in-text drawings and sketches woodcut by Jacques Beltrand. Printed in a run of 225 numbered copies; this is one of 134 printed on pure Rives rag paper. This copy is enhanced by a handwritten autograph dedication from the illustrator: "For Mrs. Roseman, these etchings and drawings executed at the Stade Français—at the Vel d’Hiv… for Jean Giraudoux’s *Le Sport*. In homage from A. Dunoyer de Ségonzac. February 1963."
