The background and the ornaments on the garments are gilded. Silver basma with engraved decoration. Executed in exceptionally fine detail. The composition is divided horizontally into two levels. In the foreground, the sarcophagus containing the relics of Saint Nicholas of Myra is carried in procession toward the city gate of Bari. The procession is greeted outside the city walls by the people, priests, clergy, and the faithful. The basma is minimally damaged. 26.6 x 21.6 cm.
