AN ANCIENT GREEK GOLD STATER OF LYSIMACHOS, KINGDOM OF THRACE, CIRCA 286-282 BC An Ancient Greek Hellenistic gold stater issued under Lysimachos, King of Thrace (reigned 305/4-281 BC). Obverse with the diademed head of the deified Alexander III the Great facing right, wearing the horn of Ammon. Reverse with Athena Nikephoros enthroned left, holding a small winged Nike in her extended right hand, her left arm resting upon a shield, with spear behind. Greek legend "ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ" ("of King Lysimachos"), with control marks and monogram in the fields. Weight: .32 oz., 9 g. Dimensions: D: 19 mm. Condition: Very good.
