401 - LARGE PICTURE CLOCK, "The Maid of Orleans, Coronation Procession of Charles VII in Reims," Austria/Vienna, ca. 1820, oil on metal, unsigned 4/4 striking mechanism on a clay spiral, 1-day movement, with spindle escapement; the musical mechanism plays two melodies; original wooden case; wide, fluted frame with egg-and-dart molding, gilded. HxWxD: 68/95/14 cm. Restored condition with signs of age and wear. The clockwork was tested and found to be in working order during a brief test. The striking mechanism and musical mechanism are in need of overhaul and are currently non-functional. A photo album documenting the restoration work on the clockwork is included.
